Sectioned Stock Take Count
Overview
The Sectioned Stock Take is designed to work with the Smart iT stock take app, allowing you to use Portable Data Terminal (PDT) devices to scan items. This method divides your warehouse or store into sections (e.g., A, B, C), enabling multiple employees to count different sections simultaneously using PDT devices. The system automatically consolidates all section counts to provide a complete inventory count.

Steps to Perform a Sectioned Stock Take
Follow Steps 1–5 of the Regular Stock Take Guide to set up the stock take:
•Navigate to Stock Items > Stock Take > Regular Stock Take.
•Click Create New Stock Take to generate a snapshot of theoretical quantities.
•Select the warehouse, inventory group, bin location, and suppliers.
•Click Create Stock Take.
•Navigate to the Stock Take Report > Process tab and print the Stock Count Sheet with recommended options (e.g., Show only active items, Only print where stock on hand is greater than 0).
Step 5 (Continued): Access Sectioned Stock Take
In the Stock Take Report, right-click the created stock take and select Sectioned Stock Take Count (instead of Open Stock Take).
Step 6: Define Sections
Add the sections to divide your warehouse or store (e.g., Section A, Section B, Section C).
These sections allow multiple employees to count different areas concurrently.
Step 7: Scan and Finalize Counts
Use PDT devices to scan items in each assigned section.
After scanning is complete, click Finalize and Transfer to Stock Take to consolidate all section counts into a single inventory count.
Step 8: Complete the Stock Take
Return to the Stock Take Report > Process tab.
Click Show Differences to compare the scanned quantities against the theoretical snapshot.
Click Process to finalize the stock take and update inventory records.
